Black Lives Matter

We stand in solidarity with BIPOC people and communities everywhere who have been systematically oppressed by racial injustices and violence.

As #BlackLivesMatter has captured the world’s attention, we have spent time listening and learning from this powerful movement.

We’ve been engaging in uncomfortable and vulnerable conversations. We’ve been sharing our experiences. We’ve been digging deep to find the right way for our business to contribute.

At Top Draw, we believe in empowering our people. We believe in breaking down barriers to give our team, clients and partners the freedom to lead their own way forward.

But, we can always do better. We need to do better. As a business, it’s our responsibility to encourage and maintain a diverse, safe and inclusive space for our people and community.

Our organization has begun supporting these Edmonton BIPOC nonprofits with ongoing donations:

We’re looking to uplift and help BIPOC voices while we build on our own diversity practices. We believe if you’re reflecting on the next steps to take, you can support organizations who are already passionate advocates.

As we continue this work, our team is actively looking for ways to amplify BIPOC and LGBTQ2S+ businesses on #SocialActsofKindness, our weekly Facebook Live. Keep watching our social media feeds to hear more diverse perspectives.

In the coming weeks and months, we’re opening up honest conversations about how we can continue to encourage diversity into our practices every day. Real change takes time. But, we’re in this for the long haul. And, we’re ready to do the work.

#BlackLivesMatter is more than a current social movement. It’s a lifelong commitment. That’s why we’re pausing, reflecting and embedding allyship into our company culture.

We know we won’t be perfect. We can only promise passion and a dedication to be better. Let’s keep this movement alive in the Edmonton community and beyond.
