Do construction procurement officers actually use Google to find construction companies?
Having worked with Cormode for almost 10 years, we can say emphatically, “YES!” By showing up on phrases to do with prefab steel buildings, mini storage, gas bars, churches, car washes and modular homes, Cormode is included in more RFP shortlists and contacted by customers earlier in the buying cycle. Many of these customers have never worked with a construction company before, and turn to Google and the internet for help in finding the best candidates for their project.

Do people apply for jobs directly on company websites?
Again, YES! While Cormode’s great brand name attracts the majority of job applicants, a significant portion of incoming prospective employees found the website by searching for keywords to do with Alberta and Edmonton construction company jobs. Over a period of 5 months in 2011, Cormode averaged 67 resumes submitted per month, with over 50% of these coming straight in from Google and other search engines. This volume of applicants fit in nicely with Cormode’s needs and was able to save a significant amount of money over using a professional recruiter.
